Это интересно:В середине 70х братья Charlie, Ronnie и Robert Wilson организовали группу Greenwood, Archer and Pine Street Band в их родном городе Тулза, Оклахома, а уже намного позже в 1979 использовали только аббревиатуру Gap Band. Группа была названа в честь улиц афро-американского райна Тулзы. Первая пластинка Gap Band вышла на независимом лэйбле в 1974 году. К это времени в группе уже было 12 человек.
