Tamerlan is the dark folk / ambient project of Timur Iskandarov, a musician who has called Serbia, Russia, Turkey and Uzbekistan his home. Tamerlan was formed in 2005 and has seen a fairly steady output since. The humble beginning of Tamerlan’s music was more in line with dark ambient soundscapes, but over time it slowly formed into the dark folk project that it is today. Focusing on the mystical, the occult and the unseen, Tamerlan’s third and latest full length album, Ain, shows that Iskandarov’s wellspring of creativity has yet to run dry.
