Djedjotronic aka Jeremy Cottereau was 9 when he had the first contact to electronic music listening to Jean Michel Jarre’s “Equinox”, stolen from his brother’s discotheque.
At this age he spent most of the day playing randomly with his Casio synthesizer composing naive melodies and exploring an enduring fascination for machines.
A few years and a participation in a college rock band after, he realized that he never lost the feeling of wonderment about electronic music. At the age of 17 he decided to buy his first MPC sampler and started making his own music.
Discovering Warp Records had a big influence on Jeremy as compilations like “Artificial Intelligent” were running on repeat. The futuristic IDM music fascinated him and he slowly got more and more involved into it.
Legendary Detroit based label “Underground Resistance” was the next step. Model 500, Drexciya and Mike Bank’s concept of High-Teck Funk was the subaquatic landscape he wanted to explore.
Jeremy started experimenting his music in clubs with the now famous Popof, releasing several collaborations and touring together under the name “Wee-Kids”.
Djedjotronic’s debut EP “Turn Off” was released in 2007 on Level75 and got huge support.
His second EP “Dirty & Hard” was a collaboration with South African rapper Spoek released on Boysnoize Records in March 2009.
One Year later the “Bit This Thin” EP was released on the same label. It’s a fusion of modern jackin’ house and techno music, creating a sound which crosses genre boarders.
2011 has also been a fruitful year for Djedjotronic. He appeared on Tsugi magazine’s #38 cover alongside Busy P and Dj Medhi. He charted his analog bomb “Uranus” #1 on the Beatport electronica charts, released his fourth record on BNR TRAX and got the opportunity to play right after Aphex Twin’s live set at “SONAR festival” in Barcelona.
His fifth record “Walk With Me” got released on BNR Trax in 2012.
This great success gave him the chance to work on remixes for artists like Gonzales, Unkle, DSL, Das Pop, Tiga, Birdy Nam Nam, Etienne De Crecy, Boys Noize, Chromeo, Housemeister, Surkin, Strip Steve or more recently Miss Kittin.
Touring alone or playing together with his colleagues from Boysnoize Records Crew, Djedjotronic has now participated in most of the major electronic events worldwide. He played: Pukkelpop (BE), Dour (BE), Mystery Land (NL), Name (FR), Sonar (ES), Nuit Sonore (FR) and I Love Techno (BE) just to name a few.
